Difficulty and new clues

Easy includes active players meeting any one criterion: five consecutive seasons in the English, German, Italian, Spanish or French top flight, across clubs or leagues; a title in one of those five leagues; or selection for a last-16 team’s final squad at the 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022 or 2026 World Cup. Cup trophies, five non-consecutive seasons and nationality alone do not qualify. Medium has a broader active pool; Hard includes obscure and historical players.

The featured layer starts with 150 curated familiar active players: an actual appearance at the 2022 or 2026 World Cup OR at least five distinct Big Five seasons, plus a current Big Five club. A top-six men’s Ballon d’Or finish in 2017–2026 waives the current-league requirement (no award in 2020). Familiarity is an editorial selection from qualifying players, not an objective ranking; administrators can adjust the tier per player.

Easy has a featured tier and a regular tier: about 80% of new games draw from familiar featured players and 20% from the other Easy players. The server chooses a tier, then a player uniformly within it. Solo and duel share this rule, while search covers the whole Easy pool. If one tier is empty after filtering, the remaining players are used. These are long-run probabilities, not a fixed four-out-of-five sequence.

Consecutive seasons use verified league appearance records, currently through 2026-06-28; profiles are checked as of 2026-10-24. World Cup editions count final-squad selections, not on-pitch appearances. Verified non-participation or no Champions League titles displays 0; incomplete evidence or uncertain identity remains unknown. Revised tiers apply to new games.

Current and historical records

Current clubs, leagues and shirt numbers use 2026/27 squads, player profiles and transfer announcements, with an audit cutoff of 2026-10-24. Conflicting rosters are checked against official club announcements. Players without a reliable current record show unknown; last season’s club is not presented as current. Some rosters include academy players.

This is a dated snapshot, not a live feed. Age is frozen at the snapshot date; historical profiles without a reliable present age remain unknown. World Cup editions count squad selections, including unused players. UCL counts use verified squad-title totals. Missing values are not zero.

Chinese names and identity matching

Chinese names use Chinese Wikipedia article titles, Wikidata labels and reviewed common names, normalized to simplified Chinese. Cross-source joins use stable IDs or a name plus an exact birth date. Conflicting birthdays are not merged automatically. Players without a reliable Chinese label keep their original name.

Games retain the dataset they started with. Start a new game after an update to use the latest records.
